6040 Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel

The purpose of the ASSE 6040 standard is to provide minimum performance criteria, identified by an industry consensus, for Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel, to assure compliance with the referenced standards on Section 40-1.4 of the ASSE Series 6000 – American Society of Sanitary Engineers.

This web based training program. composed and narrated by Roland W. Lamer, an ASSE 6050 Medical Gas Systems instructor, provides a source of training and instruction compliant with ASSE 6040-3.2.1,3.2.2, and 3.2.3.

Completion of this training program will satisfy those instruction requirements necessary to gain access to the computer based examination administered by National Inspections Testing and Certifications. The successful completion of that examination will earn the ASSE 6040 Credential for Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel.

The following minimum prerequisite qualifications must be met in order to participate in this training program.

“The candidate shall be employed or contracted by a health care facility, or actively engaged in working with medical gas systems, and shall have one (1) year minimum experience in the maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems.”
